2014 yılında hayata veda eden The Crusaders kurucusu Wayne Henderson 24 Eylül 1939’de bugün dünyaya gelmişti.
Wayne Maurice Henderson (24 Eylül 1939 – 5 Nisan 2014), Amerikalı soul caz ve hard bop tromboncusu, aynı zamanda plak yapımcısıdır. 1961 yılında, soul caz ve hard bop tarzındaki The Jazz Crusaders grubunun kurucularından biri olmuştur. Grubun ismi daha sonra The Crusaders olarak değişse de, Henderson 1976 yılında gruptan ayrılarak yapımcılık kariyerine odaklanmaya karar vermiştir. Ancak 1995 yılında The Jazz Crusaders’ı yeniden canlandırmıştır.
2007 yılında, Henderson Pasadena, Kaliforniya’da bulunan California College of Music’te görev almıştır. Sanatçı, diyabet hastasıydı ve 5 Nisan 2014’te Culver City’deki bir hastanede kalp yetmezliği sonucu 74 yaşında hayatını kaybetmiştir.
